Tenth Amendment, in a Nutshell:
The government of the United States has the power to regulate only matters delegated to it by the Constitution. Other powers are reserved to the states, or to the people (and even the states cannot alienate some of these). In modern times, the Commerce Clause has become one of the most frequently-used sources of Congress' power, and thus its interpretation is very important in determining the allowable scope of federal government.
How the US government works:
A supreme presidential ruler, by executive order, tells the people what to do and how to live their lives with all the power to circumvent congressional oversight at the stroke of a pen. In addition, the "over-see-ers" themselves often are little more than out of control senators and congressmen/women, ignorant of the best interest of the American public.Proof positive: OBAMACARE, TARP, FEDERAL BAIL OUTS OF FAILED COMPANIES (AGAIN).
Our "representatives" seeking only to achieve bigger campaign contributions, rebuke the power of the people, often for the cause of fattening their personal wallets, much to the demise and increasing indebtedness of the nation.
How the US Constitution says the country should be run:
The American people give power to the counties, counties give power to the states, states give power to the federal government. The ultimate, supreme "rulers" are the people themselves.
How tyranny of the few holds back the many
